May 9, 2019

This fruit bush was introduced to Florida.

Native to South America, and known as “Pitanga” by locals.

The darker the fruit, the more sweet.

It is told how the leaves are crushed by foot, producing a smell that repels flies.

The leaves are also used to make tea.
